              <abstract xml:lang="en">The Japanese Panel Survey of Consumers (JPSC) targets adult men and women and their spouses from the whole of Japan. This panel survey questionnaires cover a wide range of topics, such as employment, income, health, education, distribution of living hours, and assets. The Institute for Research on Household Economics is a longitudinal survey that started in 1993 with 1,500 subjects (cohort A). Given sample attrition, new subjects were added in 1997 (500 subjects, cohort B), 2003 (836 subjects, cohort C), 2008 (636 subjects, cohort D) and 2013 (648 subjects, cohort E). The Panel Data Research Center at Keio University has been responsible for the implementation and management of the survey since 2018, taking over from the Institute for Research on Household Economics, which was dissolved in December 2017.Regular surveys were completed in 2021.</abstract>
